Why is it that for us to appreciate the things we have, we must put ourselves in the shoes of those who have less and are less fortunate than us?
I watched a short clip about a team of Russian guys who play soccer. Nothing out of the ordinary except for the fact that they are blind. That’s right blind. Imagine for a second being blind, and how your problems of today seize to matter. The idea of not being able to see tomorrow is deeply troubling. Yet these guys and others who are blind get up each day and carry on, knowing full well that they will probably never get a chance to see a sunset, their girlfriend or even so much as witness an autumn leaf get blown around by a gust of wind.
We take so much for granted, worrying about things that are so inconsequential…
This is for all those people that see the light at the end of the tunnel, which even those of us who have everything, fail to see.
