Stay informed about the currently playing song, podcast or video in your iTunes library. iCue uses sleek and customizable notifications which fade into view on your screen.
What makes iCue special is that it also supports CUE sheets. This gives you the ability to listen to individual tracks within long single-file sets. That means that listening to non-stop radio mixes is a breeze.
With an intuitive interface and quick keyboard shortcuts, you’ll have more control over your iTunes library!

For now here is a brief summary of the features you can expect in the new version:
- Re-designed menu
- New preferences pane with much more user friendly CUE file management
- Quick Search which very much like Spotlight, will let you find and listen to any track you have hidden away in your single file mp3s.
- The ability to rate individual tracks
- A “Busy Mode” which will hide notifications while you’re busy writing your paper, yet still give you the ability to skip between tracks and enjoy your music.
- The ability to play random tracks
- Lots of bug fixes
I have just tried iCue and I must say it is a simple but nice iTunes controller.
However, there are a few things missing to make it useable for me:
1. A way to quit iCue if I want to. Maybe you could add “Quit iCue” to the menu.
2. A hotkey to do “pause/play”. (Or then customizable hotkeys for each function.)
3. And please add the cover artwork to the Growl notification.
Thanks!
